(BBD=Baby BeanDip)

Kenny and I have been trying to conceive for 6 years, and me dealing with PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome), wrecked havoc on my menstrual cycle (not having a period at all or 1-3 periods a year). I prayed and prayed...then finally giving up back in April 2007. I started worrying about my period, because I hadn't gotten one since the end of March, and by the 3rd week of June, I was cramping really bad and my breast were so sore! I thought my period was due, but when it became late I scheduled to have my blood taken for a pregnancy test. Normally, the result was always NEGATIVE, but on June 21st (first day of summer), the test came back POSITIVE!!!! Our prayers were finally answered!!!!

Had a little scare on July 1st....started bleeding (as if I was having a period)....after 9 hours in the ER and both a transvaginal and abdominal ultrasounds (I was 5 weeks at the time), my baby bean was still implanted on my left side chilling out!!!

My first appointment was on July 14th...unfortunately the ultrasound machine didn't have any paper, so I didn't get a pic :( .

I'm awaiting my second appointment, which is on August 8th (I'll be 10 weeks)!!! I get my official ultrasound pic done at that time as well!

August 8th 2007

I got up at 6am on the dot ready to start my day!!! Kenny, who had worked the past 16 hours yesterday was fast asleep, so I gave him an extra 35 minutes before I did the Army wake up!!! We got ready and walked out into a mist of humidity...ughhhhhhhh!!! It was storming, thunder and lightening when we got up, but that didn't discourage us from going to see our Baby BeanDip!!!

Got to the hospital at 7:45am, went through Registration and then going upstairs to Ultrasound. Filled out some more forms, while making conversation with the nurses. Went into the examination room and prepared to see Baby BeanDip live and in effect ...

BBD was a mess LOL!!!! Kept crossing his/her legs, kept moving around so that the nurse couldn't capture certain parts of BBD's body, and just being plain stubborn LOL!!! The nurse kept saying, "Come on sweetheart, turn around so we can see you" and would jiggle the wand, which made BBD jiggle around LOL that was soooo funny! Also, she said I'm 11 weeks and 3 days along...which means my due date changed from March 3rd to February 24th!!! BBD's heartbeat was 167bpm, and the heartbeat was so strong and fast, like a stampede of horses! BBD was truly showing off!!!
Kenny said he saw a dip in the middle of BBD's head...I'm like, BBD is still an embryo until Sunday, so we won't find out until the birth!

We were both excited and happy that BBD had a successful photo shoot!!! We were starving, so we hit IHOP and I know BBD was happy!!! I think that is why BBD was being stubborn....he/she was hungry!

Week of September 3rd

The doctor's appointment went fine...BBD's heartbeat was 156, but it was kinda faint because BBD was hiding towards my back.  I have been feeling fluttering sensations (mostly in the evenings) like the baby is doing all types of dance moves in the womb: the running man, the MC Hammer, Roger Rabbit...all types of old school dances I'm feeling this baby do LOL!  This baby better become some type of entertainer and make us some money!!!  I can't wait until I get a bit bigger, and then actually feel the baby kick...Kenny will definitely get a kick outta that!

I just can't wait to finally meet this lil person...the most anticipated arrival since "forever"...we wonder how the baby will act and look like. One thing is for sure, Baby Lopez will be loved by many, far and near.

September 8th

16 weeks

Lately, everyone is asking if we know what we're having.  October 3rd is the big day...and yes, we do want to find out the baby's sex!  Some say, "Wait until the baby is born; it would be more special and more of a surprise to you and everyone else."  It's practically eating me up not knowing right now-can you imagine if I wait until I give birth???  I'm nosy, shoot!!!  Kenny and I would prefer to have a girl....if we do have a boy, I'll just dress him in pink and put barretts in his hair-he won't know LMAO!!!  Or, we might not tell anyone what we're having until I give birth....then again Kenny can't even hold water, so that idea goes down the drain.

But seriously, as long as we have a healthy baby, it doesn't matter to us. We are excited soon-to-be parents, and whatever the outcome is, we are just grateful God has blessed us tremendously!

October 3rd

Yes family and friends, we're having a girl!!!  Anaiyah Denise weighs 10 ounces and her heartbeat was 164bpm.  She did give the ultrasound tech problems at first, because she had the umbilical cord between her legs (trying to hide), then she was covering her face with her hands.  I had to lay sideways in order for the baby to reveal herself!  Here she is, in all her naked glamour LOL!!!

Anaiyah Denise!!!

The first pic is Anaiyah's side profile; the second pic is Anaiyah facing the camera-her face is on the right (tilt your head to the right-you'll see her eye sockets); and the third is self explanatory...I had to lay on my side just so the tech could get the baby to show herself!!!
Now it's off to buy pink baby clothes LOL!!!

October 4-7th 2007

The next day, I went on a cruise to the Bahamas with my DivaGirls and Gator Productions.  It was such a relaxing mini vacation.  I'm 19 weeks in these pics.

October 19th 2007

Anaiyah moves around a lot...like she's auditioning for Dancing With the Stars LOL!  Sometimes when I get stressed, I won't eat. Anaiyah ain't having that!!!  She will move around like she's cussing me out...then I have to give in hmmmph!  And she is more active in the evenings than in the daytime. If that is any indication of how she will be when she's here, we're in trouble LOL!  Kenny talks to Anaiyah, rubbing my tummy and saying, "Daddy loves you, yes I do...Daddy loves you, you know it's true," and he will proceed in telling her how his day went and how much he missed her...never mind the lady that is carrying her.  LOL he makes me laugh every time he does it, but it's cute and hopefully Anaiyah will remember his lil rhyme when she gets here...so she can spit up on him and laugh!!!!

December 22nd 2007

Kenny and I have been trying to get a 3D ultrasound done since the beginning of December...but Miss Anaiyah would not cooperate with us! The first time, the images came out blurry due to me having low fluids, and she wouldn't show her face; the second time, my fluids were good, but she was in a breech position and hiding behind the placenta...tomorrow I go in for a final try...she is now in a head down position, and hope to get some pics of her to post on here!

As of December 18th, Anaiyah is 3lbs 7 ozs!!!

December 23rd 2007

We finally got 3D Sonogram pics of Princess Anaiyah!!!

..with her mouth open

Sorry the pics are fuzzy...Miss Anaiyah was being a DIVA...hiding her face in the placenta, putting her hand in front of her face, blinking and making faces!!  She is such a ham!!

February 20, 2008

Four days til my due date. I have been asked numerous times for the past week, "Is she here yet?". And nope, not yet!!! I'm feeling Braxton Hicks contractions...not painful, just annoying. And Kenny has been encouraging me to take walks when he gets home from work too. It gets frustrating when other women who are due around the same time as me have their babies before the due date...and I'm here still waiting. In a way, I'm kinda glad we're biding time-gives Kenny and I a chance to finish preparing her room, our place and tying up loose ends. But at the same time, we are too anxious to meet our baby girl!!! Who is she gonna look like? Will she be a quiet baby or a lil busybody? We love her so much, and I know our love for her will be taken to the next level...a place that I was told no one can ever describe.

Last night, I was just chillin' on the couch and Kenny was on the computer-Anaiyah must have been in rare form because she was extra energetic. When she kicks or moves, it is barely visable to the naked eye. Well, she started kicking, squirming and moving HARD...I told Kenny to watch, and he sat on the floor and leaned on the sofa to watch the show Anaiyah put on! You should've seen Kenny's face...mind you, he only felt her kick once. And if she does start to kick and we put our hand in the place she kicked, she would always stop. But she must have been trying to negotiate with us about her arrival or something!!!! It was soooo cute!!!!!

So, we're still on baby watch!!!

ETA: Later that afternoon, I started feeling contractions. It was about 5:36PM, and they were not consistent enough to monitor, so I thought nothing of it. As the time went by, the contractions were stronger and stronger, about 5-8 minutes apart. That night was also the lunar eclipse of the full moon, and had a great view of the moon from our window. I wasn't about to miss that LOL!!! But the pain was so intense, we left to go to the hospital 15 minutes before the eclipse happened!!!

When I got to the hospital, they put Kenny and I in a room with the most uncomfortable office table for me to lay on...I was soooooooo annoyed!!! They monitored me for about an hour and a half. A doctor came in and checked me-I was 3 centimeters and 80% effaced. The baby was still high up in my ribs and refused to drop into my pelvis. I was advised to walk around the Labor and Delivery ward so that I can help the baby move down and increase the centimeters. I only walked around for an hour and a half (which was so uncomfortable). In that time, I lost my mucus plug...which meant we were on our way to meet our lil girl!

Got back to the room, and was put in a more comfortable birthing room. Before I went to lay in the bed, I had to use the bathroom...and my water broke!!! I was excited!!!!  At that point, I was 6 centimeters and 100% effaced...so I asked if I could get my epidural done (because the contractions were unbelievable)! After having the epi done, Kenny and I were able to sleep a little. I was awaken by the doctors and nurse after a few hours-the baby's heart rate was dropping. I was checked, and the doctor said she also passed a bowel movement in the womb (meconium), and that they would have to do a c-section to safely deliver her. There was no contest-whatever they had to do for Anaiyah to be safe. The doctor said if her heartrate went down again, I would have an emergency c-section right away. He left, and Anaiyah's heartrate dropped down from 130 to 80! Kenny and I almost lost our minds trying to call for the doctor to come back!!! He did, and I was prepped for the emergency c-section.

At approximately 7AM on February 21, Anaiyah Denise was lifted from my womb and cried her first cry. Kenny and I were so overwhelmed with tears, relief and happiness!!!! She was healthy and alert...that is all that mattered. When I got a glimpse of her, my heart melted!!!! She was so beautiful...all the nurses and doctors in the O.R. kept saying how beautiful she was. And throughout my 3 day stay in the hospital, Anaiyah was doted on as the cutest baby!!! It was a rough hospital stay for me recovering from the surgery. We finally went home on Anaiyah's due date of February 24th...a new chapter in our lives. We were definitely blessed!!!

From birth....

A few hours old!

to 6 weeks!!!

6 weeks old!!!

Anaiyah has grown so much in the past six weeks...if I blink, I might miss out on her milestones! She is now 10lbs 8ozs and 22 inches long! She is nursing very well, and she sleeps good thru the night-with the exception of getting up to nurse. Anaiyah-affectionately known to her parents as Pumpkin Butt, Lil Mama and Gassy McStinkFace-loves to spit up milk, pass gas like the best of 'em and smile here and there. She will gaze at something, then snap out of it and cry or focus on you. If you ask her something, sometimes she will shake her head 'no' like she is really answering you. She does roll her eyes at people...still wondering if its because she's sleepy or annoyed LOL!!! She tolerates her swing and bouncer to a certain point, but loves to be held and cuddled. When she is laying on her tummy, she 'scoots' and changes position like a big girl! She likes to move her legs like she's gonna get up and go somewhere. When she eats, she hums after every swallow..and if she's in a good dream, she'll hum a tune...a natural songbird! Anaiyah has so much personality, but we're still learning her. We love our Pumpkin Butt so much!!!

2 Months Old

As of 4/22/08, Anaiyah weighs 11lbs 12ozs and is 23 inches long.

Anaiyah loves to talk now-she started out having conversations with her Auntie Desiree! Then she started talking to us-she is so cute with her lil dimples in the corners of her mouth! Here's a clip of her chatting it up!

She smiles in response to your smile, and she still loves chewing on her lil fingers and hands. Anaiyah is very attentive-she loves watching people and her surroundings. She has a love/hate relationship with car rides. Sometimes she likes it, sometimes she will scream her head off. Anaiyah's not into toys yet, she will look at them and then look away-hopefully one day she will enjoy 'em. She does love her Rainforest mobile on her pack 'n play-she gazes at it as it rotates and will have a conversation with the animals on it. She watches Dora the Explorer...and talks to the screen LOL! Anaiyah sleeps 5-7 hours through the night. If she lays on her tummy, she can move her head side to side and lift her head up for a few seconds at a time. She is really getting big!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3 Months Old
Anaiyah now sleeps 6-10 hours through the night undisturbed! She has discovered her hands and puts them in her mouth all the time. YaYa also started teething, and she drools all of the time. And YaYa chuckled for the first time-a hearty, gut busting chuckle!!! She loves to gnaw on Mommie and Daddy's shoulders and whatever she can put in her mouth. Everywhere she goes, she is showered with compliments!!! And she is looking more and more like her Daddy. Speaking of Daddy, YaYa is actually start to like him LOL! She still doesn't like water, so bathtime can be a bit trying. As far as milestones, she can now do a mini push-up!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

4 Months Old

Anaiyah weighs 15.6lbs and 25in long!

She is chatting it up even more!!! Recently, YaYa found her "outdoor" voice, and loves to shriek and scream with delight! She also has the cutest chuckle! YaYa hasn't rolled on her side yet, but the other night she rolled over in her sleep and that woke her up! But she hasn't done that since. YaYa also enjoys standing and bouncing on her little legs, putting her hands and her toys in her mouth (still teething) and playing peek-a-boo. We started feeding her rice cereal and applesauce...at first, YaYa didn't know what to do with it LOL! But after a few spoonfuls, she now enjoys 'em. YaYa is Mommie's sidekick, and loves tagging along with her. But sometimes YaYa gets fussy in the carseat...usually because she is tired. Her smile and laugh is infectious! She also had her ears pierced!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5 Months Old
Anaiyah said her first word:
Anaiyah can sit up on her own...with a little support. Loves playing with her feet and hands. Smiles instantaneously!!! Now YaYa eats green beans and barley cereal. Took her a  few bites to realize she actually likes it!
Anaiyah has a favorite commercial-the Optimum Online Triple Play (reggaeton).
Everytime it comes on, she will stop what she's doing and break her neck to watch that annoying commercial! We also found it on YouTube, so if she gets fussy, we will play the commercial on YouTube and YaYa stops fussing and starts smiling!!! On July 28th, we discovered YaYa's two bottom teeth are just about to surface!!!! Anaiyah now rolls from side to side...finally! Shrieking and growling are a part of her daily tasks lol. Our lil angel is growing up!!!!...to be continued
